Gala Tent Marquees

I purchased my Gala Tent in March and used it throughout the Summer for family parties to celebrate our Silver wedding. I was pleased with the ordering & delivery & the tent itself. It all seemed the perfect solution to entertaining.
However when we took it down, carefully I would add, with everything laid flat ready to store in the specially purchased Gala storage bags,
the roof section tore in two places showing a weakness in manufacture.
I contacted Gala Tents as I had purchased the stronger verson on their advice, and when ordering I had been impressed by their year's guarantee.
However their guarantee is worthless!
When I contacted Gala Tents about the tears in the roof when we took it down, they who were not very helpful -
quote
"our guarantee does not cover against damage during use/erection or weather damaged.
So once you erect it - you've used it and there's no guarantee !
Gala Tent quote ....
"As the goods were not delivered in the condition that they are now in, this cannot be classed as a fault from manufacture.
All our Gala Tents are covered by a 12 month manufacturers guarantee against clear manufacturing defects. We also offer a 7 day period in which we ask that all goods are checked and any missing/broken parts are reported within this period. "
So the guarantee is only for the first week ..... if your Tent arrives with parts missing or broken!
Forget about the other 51 weeks -
there is no year's guarantee and after reading other Internet Forums I realise the large number of others who have experienced problems with the roof of their Gala Tents.

Hope this warns others of this problem. I will be researching other makes for next year. A costly mistake to make - who wants to buy a tent with a roof prone to ripping ?

Hi my Name is Mr Rupert Gladstone.I am the founder and Chairman of a new club that i started in 2009.The Club is called Wheels For Charity and we raise funds for Children in Need,Help for Heroes,& The Forces Children's Trust.We also help 2 local Charities in Peterborough. I approached Galatent while looking for firms that would sponsor us or help us to Fundraise at events.I was looking for Marquee Hire or donation at the time for one particular event we were involved in. Galatent very kindly sponsored Wheels for Charity by giving us a 6x12 Marquee.This has been a great help to us and at our Children in Need event in October 2009 we were able to have The F1 Benatton That Schuomacher Drove to win the World Championship in 1994. The Marquee has this year enabled us to be invited to some very big events at Santa Pod Raceway,also to gain access to some real show car bike etc that need to be in the dry. The Marquee is Quick and easy to put up and for it's size very portable.The Marquee is now booked for it's first Wedding function which will raise money for our charities. When I ring Galatent they are always very helpful and freindly on the phone. I must also Thank them from all of us at Wheels for Charity not only for there sponsorship but also for having just sent us all the Ground rails as we need them for Santa Pod as the show area is on Tarmac. Wile I was looking around I must say Galatent Prices are very good and of over 20 different firms I spoke to encluding Hire firms.Galatent gave me the best first impresion.When we first used our Marquee we all were impressed with its quality.. In Finishing I will say." We at Wheels For Charity are proud to have Galatent as our main sponsors.proud to carry there name on our club banner,and cannot thank them enough for all there help to help us fundraise for charity

I write to congratulate Gala Tent on the swiftness of delivery, especially as we needed it at such short notice. The party was a complete success and we received several comments regarding the quality of the Marquee. Once again, thank you for providing a good product and efficient service

I would just like to thank you for such great service. The speed of the delivery was fantastic. Kids are now very happy they have thier swimming pool covered, now all we want is the rain to stop :-) I shall certainly recommend Gala Tent to everyone. Many thanks

Just thought I would drop a quick line that might be help full to other licensees. I have recently purchased a marquee from the Gala Tent company. I initially had the idea to hire a marquee for the Christmas period so as to extend my drinking area into my garden, which can only be used in the summer. However the Gala Tent marquee offered where so cost effective and of excellent quality I bought one instead. Now I have the extra space for christenings, weddings, birthdays etc as well as Christmas. On top of that I can put on a big screen showing of the World Cup in the marquee this year, which would not have been possible without it. The marquees also come with a helpful loophole in the law attached, they come with a full fire Certificate you can use them as a separate smoking shelter area! They are so easy to heat as well with a normal patio heater. Also because they are classed as a temporary structure (even though they are so well constructed you could leave them up all year) no planning permission is required. Simply I can now utilize my garden 12 months out of the year and offer a smoke free pub into the bargain! The possibilities are endless for new openings for the pub trade. Roll on the good times!

Just a short note to say thank you. My Marquee arrived at 9.30am the next day as stated on your website. It was also really good to receive a product that exceeded my expectations. A very well designed product made from good quality materials.
